A therapeutic model that seeks to provide clients with a straightforward and visual way to understand their internal dialogue

This model highlights the role of personal boundaries and how relationships interplay with our hidden side

The hidden side (store room) is one of the main features of this model as Store Theory covers issues around trauma and how relationships have a part to play in this. Other areas this model is suited to are: identity, values, intimacy, shame, addiction, faith and security. This model has proven to really resonate with clients who often comment on how simple it is to grasp and how the visual aspect really helps them to make sense of their situation. I have used this model in group therapy sessions and in my one-to-one counselling practice.

James Buchnell

My name is James Bushnell and I graduated at Greenwich University as an integrative counsellor FdSc in 2012.  I have been trained in therapeutic approaches of Psychodynamic, Person centred/humanistic, CBT and TA.
I specialise in addiction as most of my professional career has been spent working in various drug and alcohol rehabilitation centres around the UK.  I felt inspired to become a therapist in 1999 when working alongside counsellors at a residential addiction centre in Berkshire.
Hearing the insights from these counsellors opened the door to show me what I wanted my place in the world to be.  I currently work for the Kenward Trust in Yalding, Kent as a group therapist, but outside of this I also work online with clients with a wide range of presenting issues through video and phone calls.
