Creative Skills - Drawing Skills for Anxiety

"Not every client can close their eyes and breathe. Some people need to keep their hands busy to regulate — and that's exactly where drawing comes in." Anxiety doesn't always respond to talking. It doesn't always respond to breathing exercises, meditation, or visualisation either. For many of our clients — particularly those who are neurodivergent, highly sensory, or simply wired to be on the move — what actually works is something tactile, immediate and grounded in the here and now. In this practical, accessible session, integrative creative counsellor and therapeutic arts practitioner Honorata shares a set of direct, simple drawing techniques designed to interrupt the anxious mind, engage the senses and bring clients back into their bodies. No artistic experience is needed — by you or your clients. These are tools, not art lessons. Whether you're looking to expand your creative toolkit, support clients who struggle to settle, or simply explore a more embodied approach to emotional regulation, this session offers something genuinely useful you can take straight into your practice.
