Safeguarding For Adults

Key components of adult safeguarding include awareness, prevention, detection, reporting, and intervention.

Adult safeguarding refers to the measures and actions taken to protect the well-being, rights, and dignity of adults who may be vulnerable or at risk of abuse, neglect, or harm. This can include individuals who are elderly, disabled, or facing other challenges that may make them more susceptible to exploitation or mistreatment. The goal of adult safeguarding is to prevent and respond to situations where an adult's safety or well-being is compromised. This involves identifying and addressing various forms of abuse, such as physical, emotional, financial, or sexual abuse, as well as neglect. It also encompasses providing support, advocacy, and education to empower adults and those in their care. This course aims to equip you with the knowledge and skills you require to be confident in your therapeutic practise.
